Dark Glass Ponderings

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. -1 Corinthians 13:12

We have a winner for the box of books!!

Random Number Generator has chosen comment #20: Carrie at In the Hammock.

Congratulations, Carrie!  Out to send you an email.

We had a busy and fun weekend celebrating end-of-school with a trip to a local bounce house and ice cream parlor.  The kids also got some new pets this weekend, 3 fiddler crabs.  They are now named: Nemo, Bigger, and Ferdinand.  The other surprise we're passing is a cold...pretty typical with two preschoolers I guess.

Coming up: Reviews of Family-Driven Faith by Voddie Baucham, Texas Roads by Cathy Bryant, and my first cookbook review.

Congratulations Carrie!!!!

Oh my goodness! I can't believe I won all of those awesome books! Thank you SO much!! I'm sending an email now :)

Great review, Julia! This speaks to me especially in regards to my family right now. As a homeschooling mom who recently put one son in public school, I've been exposed to the world in a whole new way and it's not pretty. The quotes you present here are powerful! Two Sundays ago our pastor said that 80% of boys in Christian homes leave the church and don't come back. I find that so disturbing and sad. Thanks for opening our eyes to the truth of what's going on around us!

I've heard that statistic, too, Laura. I wonder why its higher for boys. I've seen faithful parents at our church where the children have walked away and boy does that keep me on my knees for my kids. Sometimes I feel that I want that guarantee for my own kids, then I hear God saying I just need to trust him and walk one step at a time. I plan on reading more from this author!
