Dark Glass Ponderings

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. -1 Corinthians 13:12

Here are some of my favorite fictional favorites. I finished one of these books last night.  Note: not all of these books were published in 2010, although I read them all in 2010.  I know its typically a top 10 list, but since my reading lists are somewhat shorter than some bloggers I've chosen five.

In 2011 I would like to read more women's fiction since that is the genre of my work-in-progress.

How about you?  Do you have any genre that you would like to read more of in 2011?

I think my main reading goal for 2011 is to just read MORE, period. :)

I read and loved 3 of these: Love's Pursuit, Courting Morrow Little, and The Preacher's Bride. I didn't make a top 10 or best reads list because I find it so difficult. I probably have as many favorite books as match my moods and particular season in life! . . . In 2011 I want to read more devotional/Bible study books. But it seems like I always run out of time in the day when I make plans . . .

@ Ruth,
That's a good goal. I would like to read more for fun as well.

@Renee Ann,
I know what you mean. It was difficult to make the list and I definitely had other books that I liked but I think these were the most memorable. You and I have the same goal! Hmmm...maybe I'll have to pray about having a devotional/Christian classics reading group.

Oh, do that, Julia! I'd be in.

Ooooh, can't wait for Love's Pursuit and The Preacher's Bride and Laura's book were fabulous too! :)

LOL, Julia, but I can't see my book here but am so glad you and others are happy about it! The only ones that show are Siri's and Kathi and Robert's. Something must be wrong with my browser!! Anyway, it's been such a blessing knowing you and having you as a reader. I am always blessed by your posts even when my books aren't up there:) Praying this year holds many blessings for you and the littles and Mr. C.

I am not sure what I want to read more of but I do love historicals. read two so far this year. I also like the contemporary fiction. I am not into heavy suspense or chick lits.
but on my tbr list the next several are historical. I joined a challange to read a book from each of the states of the USA and we can add others. I know it will be a challange with some states. (texas is covered).

Nice list, Julia! So happy to see Morrow made it- that was my favorite book this year! Some of the others look familiar, though from this list I've only read Morrow. I've heard so many wonderful things about Love's Pursuit. But I think I heard it was sad- is that true? No Greater Love looks very interesting, well, the name does anyway :)

I'm with Ruth, I definitely want to read MORE this year :D but I also want to read more non-fiction, too. Though there is A LOT of great fiction coming out in 2011! So fiction or non, this year looks to be good for us bookworms ;)

Blessings,
Amanda Stanley

LOL my goal should be to read less! I'm already one book 2...for the day! Eeek! but I know that with all of those great books coming out in 2011 I won't be able to stay away from the bookshelf!

I loved Morrow and The Preacher's Bride so I agree with you there, the others I haven't read so I can't say!

Happy New Year!

XOXO~ Renee C.

I think I've saw Courting Morrow Little on every list so far! I haven't read it yet(or any of these). I've also heard nothing but great things about No Greater Love.
The challenge of reading from each of the states Ausjenny mentioned sounds really cool! I think my state would be ONE of the hardest, but I just got a review book actually set in my state. So exciting!!!! :)

I think I'm just hungry for more historical fiction! Can't get enough of it.

Happy New Year, Julia!!!
